Apple Macintosh Classic

At some point in time I’ve been presented with the leftovers of the 1990-manufactured Macintosh Classic.

Even if it was not vandalized by some teenagers shortly prior to me getting my hands on this piece of IT heritage, a Motorola CPU was already a bit outdated by 2010s, so I had no hard feelings about gutting out the rest of the internals to save the outer shell for the later DIY project.

Initial plan was to stick the LCD inside the shell and stuff the insides of the plastic box with a matching notebook components, but as this definitely did not sound like fun, the project was abandoned until recently.

Maybe my involvement with Parallels played some part with this decision or whatever other case, but by 2017 I’ve obtained both the knowledge and the parts to complete the project in a very neat way – both retaining the original looks by sticking to a custom CRT B&W display and using the Apple hardware to provide computing power.
